"Green Diesel" và "Green Jet" của UOP

Tại hội thảo "Algae Biomass Summit" gần đây ở Seattle, Tiến sĩ Joseph Kocal từ UOP phát thảo hai con đường phát triển nhiên liệu máy bay tái sinh có nguồn gốc từ biomass đóng góp hơn 50% năng lượng. Quá trình đầu tiên, thu được nhiên liệu “green jet” tái sinh có tên SPK (synthetic paraffinic kerosene) trên phản ứng hydrogenation/de-oxygenation các hợp chất acids béo tự do (công nghệ EcoFining), tiếp tục quá trình isomerization và cracking xúc tác chọn lọc nhằm cải thiện đặc tính nhiệt độ thấp và cắt ngắn chuỗi Carbons thành khoảng phù hợp cho nhiên liệu máy bay. SPK có thể sử dụng pha trộn đến 50% với nhiên liệu phản lực truyền thống. Sản phẩm nhiên liệu tái sinh hoàn toàn có chứa nhiều thanh phần paraffins hơn – nó cần thiết thêm hàm lượng aromatics để đáp ứng đặc tính tỷ trọng. Thành phần aromatics này có thể đến từ quá trình lọc dầu truyền thống hoặc qua con đường nhiệt phân Biomass.

UOP has commercialized the UOP/Eni Ecofining process to produce green diesel fuel from biological feedstocks and has also developed process technology to produce renewable jet fuel.

UOP is developing a process of catalytic stabilization and deoxygenation of pyrolysis oil that delivers the requisite jet range cyclic hydrocarbons, and that would result in bio-content greater than 50%. Approval for this renewable jet fuel will take longer than approval of the SPK Green Jet, which should be sanctioned for blending in the shorter term, Dr. Kocal said.

Từ năm 2006, UOP đã thương mại qui trình công nghệ UOP/Eni Ecofining sản xuất “green diesel fuel” từ nguồn nguyên liệu sinh học và đã phát triển qui trình công nghệ cho nhiên liệu máy bay tái sinh. Qui trình Ecofining sẽ được vận hành vào năm 2009 bởi Tập đoàn Eni S.p.A – một công ty dầu Châu Âu hoạt động trên 70 quốc gia.
