Như vậy có một sự khác biệt lớn giữa Tổng hàm lượng glycerid (Total glyceride content) và Tổng hàm lượng Glycerin (Total glycerin) và các Tiêu chuẩn EN 14214 hay ASTM 6751 đều qui định đây là Total glycerin chứ không phải là Total glyceride như : PGS.TS Hồ Sơn Lâm : "Qui định tại tiêu chuẩn châu Âu về biodiesel (E.DIN 51606) gồm nhiều chỉ tiêu nhưng có ba chỉ tiêu quan trọng: độ nhớt nằm trong giới hạn 3,5 - 5,5mm2/giây; chỉ tiêu tổng glycerid nhỏ hơn 1%; glycerin tự do nhỏ hơn 0,02%.."
Có thể nói hiện nay tất cả các hãng thiết bị phân tích lớn như Agilent Technologies, AC Analytical Controls, Thermo,... đều phát triển các phương pháp GC cho phân tích Biodiesel (B100) dựa trên các tiêu chuẩn EN 14214 và ASTM D 6751
